Merchant Navy Officer from 1927 to 1940 and Commissioned officer in the Indian Army from 1942 to 1944; President, Kuttanadu Karshaka Sangham; Vice Chairman, Kerala Congress (1975); Chairman, Kerala Congress (1976-77); President, Akhila Kerala Karshaka Federation (1965-70).

Expired on 26-09-1978 while serving as Minister; Obituary made on 19-02-1979.
