Entered politics while a student; worked as State Executive Committee Member and District President of Independent Student's Organisation (I.S.O.); Was President of: (1) Palakkad District Youth Congress Committee for 5 years; (2) D.C.C.; (3) Palakkad Co-operative Agricultural Development Bank; (4) Palakkad District Warping, Sizing and Calendaring Industrial Co-operative Society; (5) Kerala State Agricultural and Rural Development Bank; (6) District I.N.T.U.C.; (7) Forestry Board, Palakkad District.

Was Secretary of : (1) Deseeya Karshaka Samaj, Palakkad District; (2) Kerala Pradesh Karshaka Congress Committee; (3) Chittur Taluk Grandhasala Sangham; was Chairman of: (1) Coyalmannam and Chittur Block Development Committee (2) District Bharat Sevak Samaj; was Member of: (1) K.P.C.C. from 1967 and K.P.C.C Executive from 1992 to 1996; (2) National Co-operative Union of India ; (3) All India Land Development Banks Federation; (4) Industrial Relations Committee (Agriculture) Palakkad District; (5) Peruvemba Panchayat; (6) Kerala Co-operative Union, Managing Committee; (7) District Development Council; (8) All India Handloom Export Promotion Council; (9) District Committee Saksharatha Samithi; (10) Justice Narendran Committee for the Development of Naturopathy in Kerala; Also served as : (1) General Secretary, K.P.C.C. Received four awards: (1) Silver Elephant Award from the President of India for meritorious service in Scout Movement; (2) Udayabhan Singhji Memorial Award for three consecutive years (1982-83, 1983-84 and 1984-85) for the best performance among Agricultural and Rural Development Banks; (3) Venkitaratnam Memorial Award in 1985-86 for outstanding performance among development banks (4) First Sadanandan Award for the best co-operator of the State in 1987. 

Now President, Palakkad District Co-operative Hospital; Director, Kerala State Co-operative Hospitals Federation; State Vice-President and District President of the Bharath Scouts and Guides Association.

Previously elected to K.L.A. in 1987 and 1996.
