Started Political life in 1960 as a member of Revolutionary Socialist Party. Was Member, Cashew Development Corporation Director Board, District Panchayat Standing Committee, R.S.P. National Committee, R.S.P State Secretariat; Chairman, Cashew Worker’s Welfare Fund Board; General Secretary, U.T.U.C State Committee; Secretary, RSP Kollam District Committee.

Now Member, R.S.P Central Secretariat; President, U.T.U.C. Central Committee; R.S.P Parliamentary Party leader.

Previously elected to K.L.A. in 2001 and 2006.
