Son of Shri Pavoor Kannan and Smt. Chiri Cherootta; born at Vellur on 6^th June 1949; Studied up to fifth standard; Social and Political Worker.

              Entered politics through Trade Union activities. Served as Local Committee Secretary and Area Committee Secretary, CPI(M), Payyannur; President, Vellur Weavers Society and Payyannur Co-operative Rural Bank; Executive Committee Member, Rubco and Beedi Thozhilali Co-operative Society; was Member, Kerala Khadi Grama Vyavasaya Board, Khadi Workers Welfare Board and Kerala State Housing Board; Participated in ‘food struggle’ and got imprisoned.

             Now, Member, District Secretariat C.P.I.(M) Kannur; Kannur District General Secretary, State Committee, C.I.T.U. and All India General Council Member of C.I.T.U; State General Secretary, Khadi Workers Federation (C.I.T.U); State Committee Member; Matsya Thozhilali Federation (C.I.T.U.)
