Started Political career through K.S.U. while a student; held many District and State level positions in K.S.U. and Youth Congress; was President, K.S.U. District Committee, Kozhikode; President, District Youth Congress Committee , Kozhikode; President, District Congress Committee, Kozhikode; General Secretary K.P.C.C.; Treasurer, K.P.C.C.; Syndicate Member, Calicut University; Secretary, Friends of Soviet Union.
Attended International conferences and events such as (1) World Parliament of Peoples for Peace held in Sofia (1980), (2) Solidarity with Syria & P.L.O. held in Damascus (1981), (3) International conference on Soviet Union's Victory over facism held in Moscow (1985), (4) May Day Rally held in Berlin (1985), (5) International Conference under the auspice of U.N. Palestine Division held in Jakarta (1997) and Cairo (1998), (6) 'Bethlehem 2000' Peace Conference held in Rome (1999).
