Entered Politics through KSU; was President, Alappuzha District Youth Congress (1970 to 1980); General Secretary Youth Congress Committee; became D.C.C. (I) General Secretary in 1986. Was Chairman Darals Smail Coir Company, Was Director, Kerala State Coir Corporation Alappuzha; and later its Chairman (1993); was Member, Executive Committee, S.N. Trust; Now Member, K.P.C.C. from 1973; Vice-President, Alappuzha D.C.C.(I) from 1991 onwards; President of more than 20 trade Unions in Alappuzha.
