Son of Shri K.P. Madhavan Pillai and
Smt. Rajamma, born at Cherukole on August 3, 1953, B.A., LL.B., LL.M. (Course Completed); Advocate, Political and Social Worker.
Was Central Committee, Member of ‘Akhila Kerala Balajana Sakhyam’ in 1968, its treasurer in 1970 and Vice-President in 1971; became a Member of K.S.U. in 1969; was General Secretary (1972-77) and President (1977) of K.S.U. Alleppey District; was Vice-President (1978), General Secretary (1979) and President (1980-82) of State K.S.U.; led a number of Students’ struggles; was General Secretary of the Kerala Pradesh Youth Congress for 7 years from 1982; Member, Indian Youth Congress National Council.
Led (1) Secretariat March of Youth from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram in 1982 (2) the Padayathra of Youth Congress from Kaliyilkkavila to Valayar and (3) the Kerala March from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram; was one of the organisers of the Non-aligned Youth Conference held in Delhi in 1987.
Was a member of (1) the First Senate of M.G. University (2) Consultative Committee of K.S.E.B. (3) Director Board of Kerala State Financial Enterprises and (4) Kerala State Youth Welfare Board.
Now Member, K.P.C.C., A.I.C.C.
