P R O F I L E

Son of Shri. Sanakaran Nambiar and Smt. Thambai Amma; born at Pappinisseri on 5th May 1933, Primary Education; Political, Social and Political Worker.

Entered Politics in 1948; was an active Member of C.P.I. (M) and was imprisoned several times; detained for a period of 30 months under D.I.R. from November 1964 onwards; went underground for about 15 months and then arrested under M.I.S.A and imprisoned for about 10 months in Kannur Central Jail during the emergency; formed a new party, Communist Marxist Party (C.M.P) in 1986; was President, A.K.G. Memorial Hospital, Kannur.

Now President, Pappinisseri Visha Chikilsa Society in Kannur District which runs Visha Chikilsa Kendram a prominent institution in India for Snake Poison treatment, Parassinikkadavu Snake Park, Ayurveda Hospital and Ayurveda Medicine Production Centre.  Was the Chief Promoter of Kerala Co-operative Hospital Complex  at Pariyaram, Kannur, which established the Medical College at Pariyaram.  Was Minister for Co-operation and Ports from 1991 to 1996.
