Actively participated in Congress organisational works from 1971; was Treasurer of Muttil Mandalam Congress Committee (1978) and Kalpetta Block Congress Committee (1980); Elected to DCC Executive in 1984 and President of Muttil Mandalam Congress Committee in 1987; was Secretary, DCC (1988-1992); Elected to KPCC in 1992, President District Congress Committee, Wayanad from 1992.

Was Member, Muttil Panchayat (1979-88) and its President (1991-95); Elected as Director, Mandakkimala Service Co-operative Bank in 1985; President Wayanad District Panchayat (1995-98); Member, Paster Council of Mananthavad Diocese from 1995.
